Baptism Site
On the eastern bank of the Jordan River lies one of the holiest sites in Christianity: Bethany beyond the Jordan, the place where John the Baptist baptized Jesus (John 1:28). Surrounded by palm trees and silence, this sacred place exudes a deep sense of peace and mystery. Walking along the path that leads to the river, pilgrims retrace the steps of Jesus and immerse themselves in the biblical landscape that marks the beginning of His public mission. The area includes ancient baptismal pools, early Christian churches, and archaeological remains that testify to a vibrant spiritual past. The Baptism Site is not only a destination of faith, but a bridge between past and present, earth and heaven, where countless pilgrims come to renew their baptismal promises and reconnect with the essence of their faith.
